External Review Procedure:
At the start of an external review, it is the Commissioner’s usual practice to give the parties a copy of the office’s Complaints Procedure. A copy of that document is available at the link below:
After receiving a complaint, the Commissioner usually writes to the Principal Officer of the agency advising of the complaint. That letter will also require the agency to produce certain documents to the Commissioner within a specified time period. In some cases it might be necessary for agencies to consult with third parties after a matter comes before the Information Commissioner. The following guideline provides some assistance when this is required:
